Are you a Merit Badge Counselor and don't see your name on the list?  During the half of the year all counselors were sent requests to renew via US mail.  If you did not reply or did not have a current Youth Protection Training at the time, your registration expired.  You can get back on the list with no charge and little effort by calling our registrar at 812-336-6809.

  • my.Scouting.org - All registered volunteers have access to this AMAZING new tool.  This will eventually replace the current www.myscouting.org resource as the primary resource for volunteers to make member reports, update leader training, and more.  If you already have an existing account on myscouting.org you can use your same user name and password for my.scouting.org.

  • Unit Resource Library - Nearly all handbooks, planning guides, online resources, and other tools to help your Pack, Troop, or Crew deliver the best program possible.  This library of resources has downloadable copies of leader guides, scout handbooks, and more.  Enjoy!

  • Commissioner Resource Library - a plethora of resources to help all commissioners help our youth and leaders be successful!

  • Be-A-Scout - Visit www.beascout.org and check out this new recruiting tool. One key feature of the site is an interface with Google Maps to visually show them where units are located in proximity to their address. Unit leaders are asked to log into MyScouting to update the information that is available for their unit. Click on "Be A Scout" in the Unit Tools menu of MyScouting. Don't forget to update the tracking status of your unit's BeAScout contacts through MyScouting.org!

Lenni Lenape News.

Has your unit gone on an awesome adventure?  Do you have a Scout that has truly gone above and beyond what Scouting instills in our youth?  Do you have a great idea for an activity for a Cub Scout Pack.  Share your stories, ideas, experiences, accomplishments, and pictures with the district.  Our Marketing and Communications Chairman Dave Jones wants to hear about it and publish it in the Lenni Lenape News.  Your unit or scout deserves the recognition and the other units will benefit from your ideas.  Contact Dave at lennilenapenews@gmail.com to submit your articles.

Lenni Lenape Bike Rodeo

April 9th The district will hold the inaugural Bike Rodeo for current and new Scouts.  Units are encouraged to come out have your bike inspected, brush up on the rules of the road.  The district membership team will use this opportunity as a spring recruitment event for  next year’s Tigers.  Invite a friend, enjoy some skills instruction from the Columbus Cycling Club, and make sure your bike is ready for the summer.  As we get closer to the date more information will be shared to all the unit leaders.

Lenni Lenape Merit Badge Day

The Lenni Lenape Merit Badge Day will be held Saturday, February 27th at the Immanuel Lutheran School in Seymour.  Sessions will run from 9:00 – 3:55.  More than 15 merit badges will be offered including, Photography, Disabilities Awareness, Environmental Science, Engineering, Personal Management and many more.  Adult trainings will also be offered including but not limited to a class on the do’s and don’ts of the Board of Review process, SM and ASM Leader specific training.

National Outdoor Awards

When a Scout excels in outdoor participation, there are awards to show of it!  The National Outdoor Award was conceived by the BSA’s National Camping Task Force, and it includes a series of six badges designed to recognize a Scout who has exemplary knowledge and experience in performing high-level outdoor activities.  The six areas of emphasis are:  Camping, Aquatics, Conservation, Hiking, Riding, and Adventure, with rigorous requirements to earn each.  In 2015 Lenni Lenape has a Scout who has achieved this difficult award.  We are pleased and proud to recognize Nathan Kahlenbeck from Troop 559 in earning this award.  If you have the opportunity to talk to Nate, congratulate him and learn more about how you too can earn this national level award.

Lenni Lenape Spring Camporee

Spring will soon be here and it will be time for the Lenni Lenape Spring Camporee.  This one will be one to remember.  The Program Committee has worked hard to put together a completely different program this year.  Operation Nighthawk will commence with a Saturday morning check in on April 23rd at Camp Louis Ernst.  The cost will be $15 per person and it is open on Doubleknot with a packet to download and will be open until March 11th.  Operation Nighthawk will be filled with “night missions” beginning at 9:00 PM and will include:  Espionage Adventure, Agent Rescue, Blind Escape, and a Mystery Mission, and much more.  Come out and enjoy a completely different camporee at Camp Louis Ernst this April.

Lenni Lenape District Dinner

The annual Lenni Lenape District Dinner will be held on Tuesday march 8th at 6:30 PM.  The location will be the Columbus First Christian Church Fellowship Hall at 531 5th Street.  Please plan to attend to join in some great fellowship and recognition of the 2015 Eagle Scouts, the Top 3 Service Units, and recognition of adult scouts including the District Award of Merit.  Registration will only be open through Doubleknot and the cost will be $12.00 per person.  You will also to show your pride in the young men who earned their Eagle Scout Award in 2015 by sponsoring them for this event.  Deadline to register is March 1st so don’t wait too long to register.

Journey to Excellence

Give your leaders and youth the credit they have worked for.  It’s not too late to fill out your JTE form and will only take you a few minutes.  This is a key piece of the unit’s health and recognition as well as the district’s.  If you need assistance or a form, contact:  Jon Ocheltree at jocheltree@bsamail.org.
