Are you a Merit Badge Counselor and don't see your name on the list?  During the half of the year all counselors were sent requests to renew via US mail.  If you did not reply or did not have a current Youth Protection Training at the time, your registration expired.  You can get back on the list with no charge and little effort by calling our registrar at 812-336-6809.

  • my.Scouting.org - All registered volunteers have access to this AMAZING new tool.  This will eventually replace the current www.myscouting.org resource as the primary resource for volunteers to make member reports, update leader training, and more.  If you already have an existing account on myscouting.org you can use your same user name and password for my.scouting.org.

  • Unit Resource Library - Nearly all handbooks, planning guides, online resources, and other tools to help your Pack, Troop, or Crew deliver the best program possible.  This library of resources has downloadable copies of leader guides, scout handbooks, and more.  Enjoy!

  • Commissioner Resource Library - a plethora of resources to help all commissioners help our youth and leaders be successful!

  • Be-A-Scout - Visit www.beascout.org and check out this new recruiting tool. One key feature of the site is an interface with Google Maps to visually show them where units are located in proximity to their address. Unit leaders are asked to log into MyScouting to update the information that is available for their unit. Click on "Be A Scout" in the Unit Tools menu of MyScouting. Don't forget to update the tracking status of your unit's BeAScout contacts through MyScouting.org!

Lenni Lenape News.

Has your unit gone on an awesome adventure this summer?  Do you have a Scout that has truly gone above and beyond what Scouting instills in our youth?  Do you have a great idea for an activity for a Cub Scout Pack?  Share your stories, ideas, experiences, accomplishments, and pictures with the district.  Our Marketing and Communications Chairman Dave Jones wants to hear about it and publish your stories in the Lenni Lenape News.  Your unit or Scouts deserve the recognition and the other units will benefit from your tips and experiences. Contact Dave at lennilenapenews@gmail.com to submit your articles.

FALL 2016 - BLAST INTO SCOUTING!

School is back in session and that means it is Cub Scout Recruitment in the schools.  This year we have rolled out an exciting and new method to recruit those boys interested in Scouting.  What could be better than an Estes Gnome rocket not only for every new Scout but for every Scout in your unit!  The key to a successful fall recruitment will be to get the word out!  Post yard signs on every corner, get articles in your church bulletins and provide schools the information for their morning announcements.  Contact businesses you know and your chartered organization to see if they would be willing to help kids have a great outdoor experience while developing their character by publicizing your Join Scouts Night on their signage.  Contact your school to reserve a table at their open house and then let us know.  We will make sure you have all the information you need to have a sharp looking table to inform families of our program.

Lenni Lenape Movie Night

The Lenni Lenape Movie Nights are scheduled at Central Middle School and on the calendar for the fall, winter and early spring months.  We are looking for your unit to choose a night and a movie to show on that evening and serve as a host for both the Scouting and non-Scouting families who come to learn more about the Scouting program.  Movie Night will run September – April, excluding December and is a great way to have some family fun while increasing our exposure in the community.  Contact you District Executive with any questions and to sign up for an evening.

New District Chairman

Join me in welcoming Rajesh Thyagarajan as Lenni Lenape’s new District Chairman.   Rajesh serves on the board of Columbus Rotary Club, First Presbyterian School and a few other organizations. He also served on the board of the Indian Boy Scouts movement and has represented his home country, India at over 6 international events and carries the distinction of being the flag bearer for India at the 18th Asia Pacific Jamboree at Besut, Malaysia as well as the secretary at the 2nd Asia Pacific Youth Forum in Terengganu, Malaysia.  His Scouting past is most impressive and his community involvement will help Lenni become stronger than ever.  Rajesh will be slowly getting his feet wet in the subtle nuances on the Boy Scouts of America so when you see him, welcome him to our family.

New District Retention Chair Team

Another addition to the Lenni district team are Stephanie and Josh Shaw from Pack 536 in North Vernon.  Josh and Stephanie have 2 boys in Scouts, a tiger and a Webelo, and are the architects of their units STEM event held at Camp Louis Ernst over a few weekends in the winter.  They come to the district eager to do whatever they can to help all units retain their youth and they believe that the power of a strong retention plan will keep Scouts engaged and in the program and will ultimately be the key in our district’s growth.  This has been a much needed position and they will make an impact for us so please welcome them as they work with you to build on your success.
